The Test of Primary Reading Outcomes (T-PRO) is a diagnostic and outcomes measure that will provide school personnel with a baseline assessment of and feedback regarding students’ strengths and weaknesses in reading. T-PRO helps teachers optimize instruction, monitor progress, and provide early intervention to struggling readers by targeting skills needing extra attention.

T-PRO is administered twice a year (once in the fall and once in the spring). T-PRO provides two forms for each primary level (K-3), the T-PRO Diagnostic Assessment (fall) and the T-PRO Outcomes Assessment (spring).

T-PRO was developed by a team of former teachers and experts in primary reading education. The T-PRO assessment system is designed to be comprehensive, yet manageable. It was designed to assess the five key reading skills identified by the National Reading Panel as scientifically-proven to influence reading success:
